Thomas Abolished One Game - 2004-02-12
Kurt Thomas' temper tantrum Tuesday night in Dallas became a great deal more costly yesterday when the Knicks' forward was suspended by the NBA for last night's game against the Hornets. The one-game ban for head-butting Mavericks rookie Josh Howard was issued by Stu Jackson, the NBA's senior vice-president for basketball operations.

Thomas was ejected by referee Bennie Adams with 6:07 left in the second quarter of a 105-90 loss to Dallas after he leaned into Howard in a trash-talk conflict, then hit the side of his head against Howard's head.

SPURS: Pressing Wins - 2004-02-12
The whole Spurs system appeared to mesh together and push nearly as hard as it could for their recent victories in Sacramento and Houston. Indeed these two wins are their best pair of the season so far.

As far as the basketball side, the Hawks previously have Ron Mercer however. His name is Dion Glover. If I had to win, I'd prefer Ron. But Atlanta could tank the season in favor of a more lottery ping-pong balls. If someone like Tukoglu or Bowen, who has emerged as an NBA ironman, were to go down, Ron Mercer becomes key for the Spurs.
