With exactly a month left until the Pac-10 Tournament starts in Los Angeles, Arizona State now enters the home stretch of a season that has long-drawn-out the patience of even its most loyal supporters.

Currently in last place with a 2-9 record, it figures that Arizona State will need to beef up their game better than .500% basketball to finish eight or better and qualify for an appearance at Staples Center next month.

Big Ten teams get no repsect, they haven't made known otherwise - 2004-02-12
Purdue men's basketball coach Gene Keady laughed when I said to him that UAB is predicted to make the NCAA tournament and Indiana isn't.

"I respect all those [Conference-USA] teams, but that's a joke," Keady retorted.

The Big Ten is in a sad position and that is indicated by the conference having just one ranked team, No. 17 Wisconsin, in the AP poll. This is the first time that's occurred since 1977.
